A MESSAGE FROM CATFISH JACK - Greetings Redwood Ramblers! Catfish Jack here to remind y’all to get ready for our “Jam” and Harmonica Workshops. Both workshops are geared for the beginning player. The Jam workshop will get folks playing together right way! We’ll go over basic chords progressions, how to take a lead and how to “ play well with others”! The harmonica workshop will cover all the beginning stuff like single notes, train rhythms, and how to play those “bluesy” notes. If you have a ten hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C bring that but if not I’ll also have harmonicas for sale. Looking forward to jamming with ya!
AVAILABLE TO VOLUNTEER? If you already have a ticket to the Ramble and are willing to volunteer for a total of 8 hours broken into 2 hour shifts, we can offer you a refund of $130 (50% of the regular ticket price). In order to volunteer you need to be able to arrive on Wednesday between 3:30 and 6:30pm. If you're interested, please send us an email from http://redwoodramble.com/contact-us/.

ERIC LINDELL - Make sure that your boss knows that you're taking off Ramble Thursday because you do NOT want to miss Eric Lindell and the Grand Nationals! After growing up in the Bay Area, Eric moved to New Orleans in 1999 where he has become a mainstay of the NOLA music scene, putting out 15 albums in the process. CHICKWAGON 2018! Anyone who has attended the Ramble knows how much fun Chickwagon is to watch and right now is the time to sign up if you are interested in helping make the magic happen by performing. All the details can be found at http://redwoodramble.com/chickwagon and you can sign up at http://redwoodramble.com/contact-chickwagon/.
If you are new to the Ramble, here's a little primer:
"CHICKWAGON: Barbee, Nancy, Natasha, Megan, Pam, Emily & Jeanie with Emcee Chicksie Chuck. Four original members began our journey as ambassadors of Chick-Powered Music at the Strawberry Music Festival, where, for ten years, we shared our campsite ‘stage’ with talented women, girls and a growing audience. As a band, we wanted to demonstrate, “If we can do it, so can you!” The fun was infectious and everyone pitched in to create the party. Guys & gals served margaritas, applied tattoos, and handed out schwag with a lot of smiles and sparkle. Since 2012, we call the amphitheater at the Redwood Ramble “home” each summer at Camp Navarro where we produce the annual CHICKWAGON JUNCTION ALL-GIRL REVUE. Two hours pass in a whirlwind of entertainment. Bands include the audience in sing-alongs, young girls find the courage to share magical moments, and we all discover what fun it can be to create and share music together."

If you haven't visited the Redwood Ramble website in while you probably don't know that it has been completely revamped with the help of fellow Rambler Dale Geist. Thanks Dale! One of the cool features of the new site is the Video Gallery at http://redwoodramble.com/videos/ where you will find a collection of videos from past Ramble performances including Ruthie Foster, The Ramble Jam, Fruition, Slaid Cleaves, Hot Buttered Rum, Terrance Simien and Achilles Wheel with more to come. There are some single songs and as well as full sets. And, if you don't have time to sit around staring at your screen for hours on end, remember that you can always crank up the audio and let the Ramble be your sonic backdrop as you work or play throughout the day!

ERIC KRASNO BAND - BIG ADDITION to the lineup with Eric Krasno Band joining us on Friday! For nearly two decades, Eric Krasno has been an omnipresent figure in popular music. We've heard his virtuosic, innovative guitar playing with Soulive and Lettuce (both of which he co-founded), seen him onstage supporting the likes of the Rolling Stones, Dave Mathews Band, John Mayer and The Roots, watched him take home multiple GRAMMY Awards, and benefited from his deft, behind-the-scenes work as a producer and songwriter for everyone from Norah Jones, Tedeschi Trucks, and 50 Cent to Talib Kweli, Aaron Neville, and Allen Stone. Krasno's recent solo album, 'Blood From A Stone,' reveals a previously unknown and utterly compelling side of his artistry, though, inviting us to bear witness as he both literally and metaphorically finds his voice.
In case you are not familiar with Eric's work, here's a taste at https://youtu.be/pVNWO_LjIFY?t=12m2s and https://youtu.be/LrooVS7LUmk.

You all know our friends The Real Sarahs from their performances at the Ramble Wine Tasting the last couple of years. Well, I have two pieces of good news for you. First of all, the Real Sarah's will be making their main stage debut at the Ramble this year. Second, you don't have to wait until July to see them because they will be playing Iron Springs Pub & Brewery in Fairfax on 3/7 and I hope to see you there!
Finally, here's the Real Sarahs' set from Camp Deep End to hold you over until next month!

I hope I beat the doctors odds once again and am alive and kicking for this gathering this year. I will buy tickets because I am a stubborn SOB and this was one of the best of hundreds of gatherings I have been to and I thank you for all the time you put into this. Hopefully I will be there. Thank you once again.
