ERIC LINDELL - Make sure that your boss knows that you're taking off Ramble Thursday because you do NOT want to miss Eric Lindell and the Grand Nationals! After growing up in the Bay Area, Eric moved to New Orleans in 1999 where he has become a mainstay of the NOLA music scene, putting out 15 albums in the process. You can get a quick primer on Eric by taking a listen to The Best of Eric Lindell at https://open.spotify.com/album/7jsfc0ewdPwzBOJChOUSMh as well as the included video.

CHICKWAGON 2018! Anyone who has attended the Ramble knows how much fun Chickwagon is to watch and right now is the time to sign up if you are interested in helping make the magic happen by performing. All the details can be found at http://redwoodramble.com/chickwagon and you can sign up at http://redwoodramble.com/contact-chickwagon/.

If you are new to the Ramble, here's a little primer:

"CHICKWAGON: Barbee, Nancy, Natasha, Megan, Pam, Emily & Jeanie with Emcee Chicksie Chuck. Four original members began our journey as ambassadors of Chick-Powered Music at the Strawberry Music Festival, where, for ten years, we shared our campsite ‘stage’ with talented women, girls and a growing audience. As a band, we wanted to demonstrate, “If we can do it, so can you!” The fun was infectious and everyone pitched in to create the party. Guys & gals served margaritas, applied tattoos, and handed out schwag with a lot of smiles and sparkle. Since 2012, we call the amphitheater at the Redwood Ramble “home” each summer at Camp Navarro where we produce the annual CHICKWAGON JUNCTION ALL-GIRL REVUE. Two hours pass in a whirlwind of entertainment. Bands include the audience in sing-alongs, young girls find the courage to share magical moments, and we all discover what fun it can be to create and share music together."

If you haven't visited the Redwood Ramble website in while you probably don't know that it has been completely revamped with the help of fellow Rambler Dale Geist. Thanks Dale! One of the cool features of the new site is the Video Gallery at http://redwoodramble.com/videos/ where you will find a collection of videos from past Ramble performances including Ruthie Foster, The Ramble Jam, Fruition, Slaid Cleaves, Hot Buttered Rum, Terrance Simien and Achilles Wheel with more to come. There are some single songs and as well as full sets. And, if you don't have time to sit around staring at your screen for hours on end, remember that you can always crank up the audio and let the Ramble be your sonic backdrop as you work or play throughout the day!

ERIC KRASNO BAND - BIG ADDITION to the lineup with Eric Krasno Band joining us on Friday! For nearly two decades, Eric Krasno has been an omnipresent figure in popular music. We've heard his virtuosic, innovative guitar playing with Soulive and Lettuce (both of which he co-founded), seen him onstage supporting the likes of the Rolling Stones, Dave Mathews Band, John Mayer and The Roots, watched him take home multiple GRAMMY Awards, and benefited from his deft, behind-the-scenes work as a producer and songwriter for everyone from Norah Jones, Tedeschi Trucks, and 50 Cent to Talib Kweli, Aaron Neville, and Allen Stone. Krasno's recent solo album, 'Blood From A Stone,' reveals a previously unknown and utterly compelling side of his artistry, though, inviting us to bear witness as he both literally and metaphorically finds his voice.

In case you are not familiar with Eric's work, here's a taste at https://youtu.be/pVNWO_LjIFY?t=12m2s and https://youtu.be/LrooVS7LUmk.

HERE COMES RAMBLE 2018!

Happy New Year!

Tickets for the 2018 Redwood Ramble will be going on sale to people on our primary mailing list on Thursday, February 8th at 10am. If any tickets remain unsold as of February 14th, they will be offered to people on our Ticket Waiting List (https://tinyurl.com/rrwaitinglist). You can expect an announcement of this year’s performers by the end of next week, but the BIG NEWS for today is that we have selected our Charitable Recipient for the year!

We are extremely pleased to be partnering in 2018 with Bread & Roses Presents. Bread and Roses is a nonprofit arts organization with a human services mission that brings hope, healing and joy through live music and the performing arts to people who are disadvantaged, marginalized, or otherwise isolated in diverse institutional settings in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bread & Roses presents free, live music and entertainment for Bay Area children, teens, adults, and elders— who don’t have the ability to easily experience the uplifting power of the arts in any other way. Their performances, well over 600 last year alone, bring joy to children undergoing chemotherapy, teens battling substance abuse, families in homeless shelters, veterans recovering from trauma, seniors in hospice, and others facing challenging times alone.

A great way to learn more about Bread & Roses is to check out their introductory video below and their website at https://www.breadandroses.org/.
